In this workshop we will investigate balance. Balancing our body in postures. Balancing our energies through consciousness and breath. Balancing effort while allowing our body to find its natural balance without imposing.
As you can see from the (slightly blurred) photo of elephants playing at balancing in Sri Lanka, it doesn’t matter what shape or size you are, or how good you are at it. Balancing is fun!
Finding balance within yourself whether in movement or stillness releases confidence, grace and dignity within us. It teaches us many things about ourselves, how our body and mind work together, and how frustrated we can get on those days we can’t balance! It’s a bit like singing, everyone can sing if they are relaxed, confident and prepared to let go. We can all balance too, so those of you who “have no balance” please come along. We will cover balances for everybody with a basic Yoga practice.
